This post is not meant to be humorous or witty, but it is very important.
I was staying at Dodd Hall at the Ohio State University Medical Center for about a month recently.
I want to give a shout out to all the staff with whom I established a relationship.
Considering my reason for being there (rehab after a double amputation surgery), my experience was the best one I have ever had at a hospital.
The nurses, PCAs, and all other staff were all very cordial, and sincerely cared about the patients and the job.
I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone seeking quality care and rehabilitation.
I give Dodd Hall at Ohio State University Medical Center...eleven stars!!!

Why do we need government legislation in order for people who enjoy the company of others (who happen to be of the same gender) to serve their country? I guess I was mistaken when I thought we were living in a country where you were allowed to have opinions of our own. Joining the military never really crossed my mind, but if I ever consider it, I might just keep quiet about my love of broccoli...that might not be looked upon too kindly.
Apparently, I have had the mistaken impression that society was just a bit more mature than it is. Although I've never actually asked anyone outright, I don't think that sex is the only thing gay people ever thing about (as opposed to some heterosexual people with whom I think that is the case indeed). Why would you think gay people are not just like you and me in every other respect? Would you refuse a great dinner just because it was cooked by Ted Allen? I think not.
If gay people are such an issue in the military (you'd think there would be a few more pressing issues at the moment), then there better be a reconsideration of letting women in there as well. Maybe that was a mistake? Maybe the whole civil rights thing was just a phase of irrationality? Sorry, Mr. King, I guess we were just stringing you along, making you think we were a country that cared about the thoughts and feeling of others...guess we got you pretty good, eh?
Maybe the leaders of the free world are afraid that we'll be in the midst of a terrifying battle, and some soldier will decide their cuticles need to be polished or their hair is out of place...wouldn't that be just awful? Yeah, we'd better keep Winston Smith out of the military (look it up...they don't teach that sort of thing anymore...).
BTW...does anyone know the difference between someone who doesn't like people who are homosexual (for that reason only) and someone who doesn't like broccoli? (Don't worry, I'm going to tell you.)
The latter isn't usually afraid of broccoli. (I'm not saying I would want broccoli to fight our wars, though.)
